Iva Tanku is the Quality Assurance and MEAL Director. She has been working in the field of development since 1999, initially with poor and deprived communities in Albania (Balkan Region) during the countries’ transition to democracy.
Moreover Iva extended her exposure and experience in international development to include countries in eastern and southern Africa region. Since 2005, Iva has been working in Egypt, initially as a volunteer with some local CSOs, and in 2006 moving to working in the INGO sector focusing on Community Based Rehabilitation and disability inclusion. Throughout her career Iva has hold management and senior leadership positions at Plan International Egypt, including Program Quality and Delivery Manager, Quality and Partnership Manager, Acting Deputy Country Director, as well as held the Organisation Global Chair for Disability Inclusion during 2013-2014.
Throughout her career Iva has represented the organisations she has worked with in several national and international forums and networks.
Iva holds a Bachelors degree in Clinical Medicine from “Mother Teresa” University in Albania. As well as numerous certifications and credits in Project Management for INGOs, Leadership skills (advanced), Gender Equality, Disability Inclusion, International Development, etc.
Iva has joined CARE in Egypt since February 2020 and leads the newly established Quality Assurance and MEAL unit.
